Harley-Davidson India launched the 2018 range of its Softail motorcycles on Thursday among the Street Bob, Fat Boy, Fat Bob, and Heritage Classic motorcycles. The price of the Softail range starts at an ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs. 11.99 lakh, going all the way up to Rs 18.99 lakh. All the new motorcycles have seen a loss in weight, an advancement in technology, and cosmetic upgrades, all the while maintaining their classic looks. The new Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine comes standard across the Softail lineup, as does ABS, LED headlamps, keyless ignition, and USB sockets. The engine comes with a 10 percent faster acceleration in 0-60 mph and 16 percent faster after that.

The new Street Bob features a more minimalistic design, slimmer looks with the touch of classic styling. The 2018 model has dropped 7 kgs of weight and features black spoke wheels, chopped fenders, and the riser mount digital console.

The new Fat Boy received a more aesthetic look and loses 15 kgs of weight as well. The make-over for the bike is completely new and Harley-Davidson claims a sportier riding experience as well.

The 2018 Fat Bob also got aesthetic upgrades but maintained the classic contemporary DNA it shared with its former counterpart using the satin chrome elements. The highlights of the newer model include a weight loss of 16 kgs, along with the classic headlight nacelle and a 160 mm front tire, the widest ever front tire on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The 2018 Heritage Classic keeps history alive through its vintage looks. It is the best example of the merging of history with technology. While the classic design has been kept alive, the motorcycle has received modern blacked-out touches here and there. Newer features include a detachable windscreen, taller suspension, lockable and waterproof saddle bags, and a cruise control. The latest version of the model weighs 17kgs less than the old-generation Heritage Classic.
