As the world recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s important to follow safety standards and guidelines for your office space.  Making sure surfaces are cleaned and disinfected is a key part of keeping both employees and customers safe.

In this post, we will explore the steps for cleaning your office after COVID-19.

STEP 1: Disinfect Surfaces

The disinfecting of the surface is an important part of cleaning after COVID-19.   Be sure to use CDC approved products that will effectively kill germs, viruses, and bacteria.

Some of the surfaces you should pay close attention to include:

  • Railings
  • Doorknobs
  • Keyboards
  • Tables and countertops
  • Handles

If you disinfect surfaces daily at least once, you will be in good standing and should benefit in seeing your employees healthy and safe.

STEP 2: Take Out The Trash

Taking out the trash on a regular basis is an important part of maintaining a safe space following the coronavirus pandemic.  Regular upkeep of garbage includes (but is not limited to) frequent junk removal, disposing of used and unsanitary items, keeping refrigerators clean and spoiled food removed regularly.

Germs and viruses can live in your trash cans and garbage so it’s important that you do not allow things to fester.  Removing trash daily and using trash can liners will reduce the rate of exposure to infection.

STEP 3: Keep Bathrooms Clean

Keeping bathrooms clean is a regular part of maintaining a clean and sanitary space.  Especially following COVID-19 it’s important to keep bathrooms clean and sanitized.

STEP 4: Mark Off 6 ft Areas

Mark off six-foot areas to keep social distancing in the office.  You can use masking tape or chalk to mark off areas and maintain health through following safety guidelines.

STEP 5: Give Masks and Gloves to Employees

Step five is a really easy step that will help you in maintaining the health and safety of employees and customers.  Give out masks and gloves to employees at the office and you will see a huge benefit in reduced call outs and illness.

As we move into reopening different areas, it’s important to continue wearing masks.  Doing so will have a profound effect on the health and well-being of others.

STEP 6: Do Everything Digitally

See if you can do more things digitally.  If workers can work from home, by all means, go ahead and have them do so.  Sign paperwork and contracts electronically to reduce the spread of harmful germs and bacteria.

In addition, don’t hand paperwork or anything else to people in the office.  You will want to avoid all unnecessary contact at all costs.

By doing everything digitally you will see huge benefits in reducing the spread of COVID-19.

STEP 7: Do Routine and Annual Cleaning

Routine cleaning is important and the things you would normally put off you should certainly invest in now.  You can hire a company that provides dumpster rentals near you in order to do a full cleanout of the office if need be.  In addition, other maintenance tasks such as carpet cleaning, window washing, and power washing should all be done as needed.

Maintaining routine and annual cleaning is a pertinent part of maintaining the overall health and sanitation of your office.  In doing so you will provide a safe and lovely space for employees and customers.

In Summary:

It’s crucial to keep the office space clean following the recent coronavirus outbreak. This post should have shown you some steps to do so.

We hope this post has been helpful in teaching you some tips for keeping the office clean.  Now that we are slowly recovering from COVID-19 we want to maintain safety and sanitary guidelines.
