Ayushmann Khurana and Bhumi Pednekar are sharing the silver screens once again and we are super excited. Their upcoming project, Subh Mangal Savdhaan has been in the limelight for quite sometimes now and unlike most of the movies, the reasons are all good and affirmative.  The movie is based on the most controversial topic, ‘$EX’ and talks about the petty problems that are faced when one talks about sex or problems related to it in India.

Ayushmann is known to do off league movies that are both entertaining as well as educating. There can be no  better example of his fine choice than ‘Vicky Donor.’

Recently, Ayushmann had an interview with a leading news daily in which he spoke about pre-marital sex openly.

I endorse pre-marital sex. In our society, we encourage arranged marriage. Marriage is an important aspect of one’s life. It’s always good to test the waters before jumping in. What will the couple do if there’s a problem they learn about after getting hitched? In our film, the lead protagonists are in love and support each other. But, that might not always be the case.

What a sensible thing to say, we appreciate his thoughts. But, as usual, there are some people who have a hilarious things to say, trolling the ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ actor.

He donated so much sperm that now he can’t get it up!

We can never underestimate the trolling powers of Indian, here is a fine example.

That’s exactly the reaction we wanted. This is good trolling. In a country where erectile dysfunction is a taboo subject, I am glad that we are putting it out there for the public to discuss it. After Vicky Donor, life is coming a full circle for me with this film. We are part of a progressive changing society. As young actors, the onus lies on us to choose subjects which must be talking points. Is our work of any value if we don’t have an opinion on things?

Being the honest self, Ayushmann also talked about the high importance paid to the male ego in our society.

The male ego is so unnecessarily important in patriarchal societies. When a woman cannot conceive, everyone has something to tell her. When a guy can’t get it up, it’s shoved under the carpet. Sexual health is important to a relationship. In this film, the girl is in love with the guy and we establish the fact that their relationship goes beyond the sexual act. But the girl is emphatic that she wants to have sex. In this society, chauvinism is mistaken for chivalry. It’s tough to change that. This film will trigger a change in the right direction.

For sure, Ayushmann Khurana has given another reason to the girl for loving him more. With all his wisdom and excellent choice of movies, we are sure Shubh Mangal Saavadhan will be a great success.
