Let’s talk a little bit about the beast of a device known as the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. Samsung has thrown in several new premium features and upgraded hardware which can arguably make the Ultra the best smartphone of the year 2020. Here are some of the top features of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

1. Display

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra features a 6.9-inch display with a small hole punch at the top as the front camera. Not to mention, the 120Hz refresh rate makes interacting with the phone smoother than your usual 60Hz refresh rate on the iPhone 11. The SUPER AMOLED display has ultra-high brightness and is pixel-dense at its 3200 x 1440 QHD resolution. Although the default Full HD+ resolution already looks incredibly fine and bonus, it saves battery life.

2. Battery

It’s an all-day phone, for sure. Considering the other hardware of the Ultra, 5000mAh will allow for vigorous use throughout the day with ease. Not to mention the 45W of fast charging, 15W of wireless charging and another 15W of reverse wireless charging. We’re talking 0%-100% in under an hour.

3. Cameras

One of the most hyped-up features of this phone is the camera. The improvements made is the ability to lock the focus and auto exposure with a single tap. While in pro-video mode, you can separate your autofocus and auto exposure. Another interesting feature is when zoomed into your subject, this will amplify the subject’s voice if the background noise is too loud. Other than that, the 108MP primary camera allows for cropping photos without losing the picture’s quality, which is something many people struggle with. The 100x zoom is good to have with its improved stability, but 10x zoom is all you need for social media. All in all, the processing came back better than before. You’d get better highlight roll-off, colour rendering, low-light photography and video, and the wide-angle camera is the best you can find on a smartphone. The phone can also record 8k videos at 24fps, and throughout the video, you will be able to snap a 33mp still photo.

4. Design

Unlike the usual ceramic version, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is made out of aluminium and glass, which is probably the least ultra thing about the phone. The Ultra comes in 3 colours which are Cosmic Black, Cosmic Grey and Cloud Blue. With a 166.9mm x 76mm screen dimension, you’ve got to put in some effort to avoid accidentally touching parts of the screen that you aren’t going for. Samsung needs to upgrade its palm rejection software. The smartphone weighing at 220g may be heavier than we would usually go for, but it’s a huge beneficial trade-off given what it’s holding within. For the 108MP camera, fast 5G mmWave technology and 5,000mAh battery, we’ll let the weight issue slide this time, shall we?
