There are many people who complain that they do not have enough time in their daily lives to complete all the necessary tasks. However, at the same time, we see that there are people who not only complete all their daily chores but also find time for their hobbies. How is it that these people become so productive in their lives when we all have the same 24 hours in our lives? There are many generic tips that will advise a person to manage their time better or something along those lines but let’s face it, these never really prove themselves to be practical. Here are some life hacks that will help you embark on the road to a more productive life.

1. Take advantage of the technology

Technology today has advanced to a level that we can employ the tech to do some menial tasks. For example, the voice assistants of today can tell us what is happening in the world or send a text message. This will help us save a little time, anywhere from a few seconds to minutes altogether. We can use that time elsewhere, answering emails or getting ready or fixing breakfast. You can rely a bit on technology to do your tasks for you while you devote your other senses to other important tasks.

2. Prioritize Self-Care

Some may think that this is a contrasting view to being productive if you are only thinking about taking care of yourself but blocking off time for self-care can actually help your productivity. A little time to yourself during which you relax your mind and body will only help you get a clearer head and a fresher body. New ideas will flow in leading to a higher productivity rate.  These reflective moments provide fuel for the rest of your day. They also help you pause to identify your goals, instead of feverishly working to get somewhere you may not want to be.

3. Become a Phantom User

We all use social media but there is a way to become productive all the while using social media on the side. Instead of posting about every issue, become a phantom user and just go through the feed for laughs and information. Fight the urge to post on social media and save your energy and time for productive tasks. Post only when you have some bonafide downtime.

4. Develop a system for your inbox

We receive hundreds or thousands of emails and texts everyday. You can organize your inbox in such a way that you do not lose track of any message. There are options to tag the received messages in different color codes or shift them to a different folder. There are some messages that require our undivided attention and you can flag them as important and read them in a time where your mind is not occupied by any other task.

5. Block off chunks of time on your Calendar

Instead of squeezing in small tasks between meetings, save some time on your calendar where you are unavailable to everyone and all you are going to focus on is those small tasks collectively. If you implement this strategy, everyone knows you’re unavailable and they’ll leave you alone (hopefully!). This will help you get through the tasks in a productive and quicker way.

6. Make to-do lists

When you have so much on your plate, you can organize things and not forget any of them by making a list of them and checking them off as you complete the various tasks on the list. Making a to-do list helps bring your day into focus. You know where to place your attention and strategically optimize your time. Plus, there’s no greater feeling than crossing things off once they’re completed, right?
